Samantha Robinson Amato joined the Stephen F. Austin athletics department in February 2012. She comes to SFA after spending the past year and a half at Innovative Metal Components in Lufkin, where she served as Vice President of Business Development for the aerospace manufacturing company.
Amato is no stranger to the world of collegiate athletics. She spent three seasons as assistant coach at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. During her time with NSU, the team recorded its highest national ranking (26th) and produced more than 10 student-athletes who were recognized nationally for their academic and athletic achievements.
Amato graduated from the University of Tampa in May 2007. During her college career, Amato was a four-year letterwinner on the Tampa soccer team. A former team captain, Amato was a four-time all-confernence and all-region player who guided her squad to three conference titles. She was an All-America selection in 2005.
Following her graduation, Amato played professional soccer in Iceland, spending one season with the Afturelding Soccer Club of Mosfellsbaer, Iceland.
Amato received her master's degree from the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern in January 2010.
