Joseph Boyd was named assistant strength & conditioning coach in July of 2013. Boyd came to SFA after spending the previous year as an assistant strength & conditioning coach at Kennesaw State University (Kennesaw, GA).
While at KSU, Boyd oversaw the design and implementation of training programs for women's soccer, women's lacrosse, men's and women's golf, men's and women's Tennis, and track and field throws.
Prior to his stop at Kennesaw State, Boyd spent two seasons as the graduate assistant strength & conditioning coach at Arkansas State University. Boyd started his coaching career as an intern at Mississippi State University in 2008.
Boyd played football for Ouachita Baptist University (NCAA Div II) from 2005-2008. He graduated from OBU in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. Boyd went on to earn his first Master's Degree in Exercise Science from Mississippi State in 2010 and a second Master's in Sports Administration from Arkansas State in 2012. Boyd also holds certifications from the Collegiate Strength And Conditioning Coaches Association, The National Strength and Conditioning Association, and United States Weightlifting.
