Ladyjack Receives Academic Honor

PLANO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin sophomore forward Christie Mestayer (Houston, Texas) was named to the 2002 Academic All-Southland Conference team announced league officials Wednesday.
Mestayer started 19 of the team's 20 games this season, finishing fourth on the squad with nine points (three goals and three assists). She was also a 2002 second-team All-Southland Conference selection. Mestayer is currently tied for seventh in school history in career points and tied for eighth in all-time goals, despite her sophomore status.
The Ladyjacks finished the 2002 season fifth in the Southland Conference with a 7-9-4 (.450) overall record.
