SFA golf coach Mike Hopson told his team that if they posted a third place or higher finish at the SLC Golf Championships this week, he would let them shave his head. If the team failed to finish at least third, he would get to administer the haircuts.
The 'Jacks, inspired by the challenge, posted a final round 279 to finish third at the recently completed SLC Championships at Canebrake Golf Club in Hattisburg, Mississippi. Brian Grossman led the charge with a final round of 66 to finish second in the individual standings marking the second straight year that an SFA freshman has finished second at the event.
Last year, Trevor Sauntry shot a final round 70 to finish one stroke back.
Shown in the accompanying photo giving Hopson a haircut are: Brian Grossman, Josh Price, Justin Foust and J.P. Landry.
Hopson also took the opportunity today to remind his team that the deal was still on going into the first tournament of the 2003 fall season.
