Ladyjacks Fall to Southwest Texas

SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team lost to Southwest Texas, 6-1, Saturday afternoon in San Marcos. The Ladyjacks are now 3-10 (.231) overall and 0-6 in Southland Conference play.
The Bobcats gained a 1-0 advantage after winning two of the three doubles matches to win the doubles point. The Ladyjacks recorded a victory at No. 3 doubles when the duo of Ashley Johnson and Megan Langston knocked off the Bobcats' Regan Schneider and Mackenzie Mekus, 8-6. But the Bobcats picked up the pace in singles play earning victories at Nos. 1-5 singles. Langston defeated SWTs Mekus, 6-4, 7-5, at No. 6 singles for the Ladyjacks lone point.
SFA returns to action Sunday when they travel to Lake Charles, La., to take on McNeese State. The match is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
