NACOGDOCHES, Texas-- Stephen F. Austin head basketball coach Danny Kaspar has announced the signing of Todd Henry to a letter of intent to play basketball and continue his education at the university next fall. Henry will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Lumberjacks.
A 2002 graduate of Elkins High School in Missouri City, Henry is a 6-6, 210-pound forward who averaged over 15 points and 18 rebounds per game during his high school career. Henry was an all-city and all-state selection as a senior for Elkins when he earned most outstanding player honors. He finished his career second on the Elkins all-time rebounding list with 846 boards.
He enrolled at Butler Community College in Kansas out of high school and played at Butler one season before transferring to Lon Morris College in Jacksonville for his sophomore year. Henry was an honorable mention all-conference selection last season for coach Dale Dotson while helping the Bearcats to a 25-5 record. He averaged nine points and eight rebounds per game while shooting just voer 55-percent from the field. Lon Morris was ranked in the top-20 for most of the year.
"Todd is a tough, blue collar type of player that competes and works hard. He'll see a great deal of action next year he will do the dirty work that most players shy away from. He's a great rebounder and defender, and I really like those kinds of players," said Kaspar.
Henry is the son of Barbara Henry of Port Arthur and will major in health sciences at SFA. ™
