
Men's Golf Falls to Third at Husky Intercollegiate

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's golf team closed out their fall season of play after finishing third at the HBU Husky Intercollegiate The `Jacks carded a 288-292-295--875.
Junior Mitchell McLeroy continued to lead the `Jacks through the tournament shooting one under par in the third round to place fifth at the end of the tournament. Freshman Blake Pugh improved in the final round firing a 70. Pugh moved up on the scoreboard to finish in a tie for 16th place.
After shooting a solid 68 in the second round, Junior Jeff Hageman struggled in the third round carding an 80 to put him in a tie for 18th place. Senior Michael Smith fired a 73 to finish in a tie for 27th place, while senior Jared Johnson carded a 76-73-82--231 in the tournament to finished 39th overall.
The `Jacks return action on February 27 to begin their spring season when they travel to Charleston, South Carolina to compete in the Charleston Shootout.
