Softball Finishes Cowgirl Classic 1-3

LAKE CHARLES, La.- Ole Miss defeated Stephen F. Austin in the 'Jacks final game of the Cowgirl Classic, 8-1. SFA falls to 7-10 while Ole Miss improves to 8-5.
The Rebels jumped on Alexis Telford quickly as they scored three runs in the first two innings. Ole Miss tacked on another two in the top of the fourth. The lone Lumberjacks run came off a home run to left center by Mackenzie Bennett.
Sydney Carithers went 2-2 with two singles. Bennett, Mikaelah Burkland, and Lexi Benson each recorded a hit. Corie Byrd pitched the final three innings of the game and only allowed one hit and struck out two Rebels.
SFA will be back at home for their first three-game series against Incarnate Word starting with a single game on Friday, March 3rd at 5:30 p.m.
