NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin volleyball program looked to complete their revenge tour against the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions.
SFA scored the first four points of the match then jumped out to an 11-5 lead. A 5-1 spurt later in the set that featured three kills from Katherine Holtman extended the 'Jacks lead to 21-12. From there the Ladyjacks cruised to a 25-17 first set victory.
The 'Jacks once again got out to a hot start in the second set by winning the first five points of the set, capped off by an ace from Caroline Kahle. SFA went on another five-point spurt that included two aces from Holtman, a kill from Kyanna Creecy and a kill from Zoe Gun, 12-3. The Ladyjacks did not take their foot off the gas as they continued the offensive pressure and secured a dominant 25-13 second set victory.
With the Lions cornered, SLU jumped out to their first lead of the match early in set three, 5-3. However, that did not last long as the 'Jacks countered with a mini run to retake the lead, 6-5. Later in the set, SFA went on a 5-0 scoring run to take a 13-8 lead. Back-to-back aces from Gun extended the 'Jacks lead to 17-10.
