    Stephen F. Austin, 2002

Adam Keul is entering his third season as a graduate assistant coach with the Stephen F. Austin men's and women's pole vaulters.

Keul was given the responsibility of taking one of the youngest vaulting units in the Southland Conference and converting them into a squad that would help SFA compete for a conference title. Despite working with three freshmen, four sophomores and only one senior, Keul produced 10 top eight finishes at the Southland Conference Indoor and Outdoor Championships. The 2006 campaign was highlighted by an All-SLC performance by sophomore Geoffrey Carey and sophomore Kristina Windham's NCAA Regional qualifying mark at the Dr Pepper Invitational. Carey recorded a height of 16-1.75 to finish third overall at the SLC Indoor Championships. Windham cleared a personal best of 12-5.50 in the event to advance to the regional championships. She also cleared the same height at the Baylor Michael Johnson Classic later in the year.

In 2005, Keul coached two All-Southland Conference performers and two more athletes who recorded SLC scoring marks.

Keul has a wealth of collegiate vaulting experience from which to draw. He graduated from SFA in 2002 as the school's most decorated pole vaulter. He was a four-time All-American and finished as the national runner-up in 2001. Keul still holds the SLC record in the pole vault with a top height of 18-7.50. Two years ago, Keul finished 12th at the U.S. Olympic Trials, and in 2005, he was fifth at the U.S. Outdoor Championships.

Keul also was a success in the classroom during his time at SFA. As a senior, he earned both Academic All-American honors and the SLC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. He graduated cum laude.

Keul is currently pursuing his master's degree.
