    NORMAN, Okla. - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field team finished with 124 and 173 points, respectively, recording 19 all-conference performances, and five individual titles to capture the 2013 Southland Conference Indoor titles Saturday evening at the Mosier Indoor Track in Norman, Okla.

    The team championship is the fifth consecutive indoor title for the Ladyjacks and extends their league-record to nine consecutive titles across the indoor and outdoor seasons. The mark is the first for the Lumberjacks since 2005.

    The women recorded 11 all-conference honors with individual titles in the high jump, shot put and 200-meter dash, while the men took eight league spots and titles in the shot put and 1,600-meter relay.

    SFA got strong showings from Jon Arthur and La'Tricia Griffin, who each recorded individual titles and all-conference honors in the shot put. Arthur out tossed his closest competitor by more than five feet, landing a mark of 59-03.00, while Griffin out threw teammate Jessica Spelling with a 49-10.50 launch. Spelling placed second for the women with a mark of 48-06.25 to also take league honors. Also competing for the men was sophomore Derek Calvert who took fifth (51-08.00). The women recorded 18 points in the event, while the men totaled 14.

    The women also recorded a strong showing in the high jump. Melai Carter out leapt fellow sophomore Catlin Jones with a jump of 5-07.00 to take the title and league honors. Jones also recorded an all-SLC performance with a bound of 5-05.00. Also completing in the event was Heather McPherson who added four points for the women with her fifth place finish (5-05.00). The trio recorded 22 of 39 possible points in the event with their placings.

    In the 1,600-meter relay, the men's team of Hampton Hawkins, Torin Crowder, Jontel Goff and Cass Brown-Stewart claimed all-SLC honors, posted a time of 3:17.25 to claim the group title and pick-up all-conference honors. The assemblage picked up 10 points for the men with the win. The women's team of DeJernel Jordan, Cierra Jefferson, Dar'Keisha Tryon and Jessica Hatchett, justed missed league honors with a fourth-place finish of 3:51.26.

    Brown-Stewart added two more all-SLC performances with top-three finishes in the 60 and 400-meter dash. The Fort Worth, Texas, native came in third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.83 before accelerating to second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 47.59. Hawkins also competed in the 400, placing eighth with a time of 49.51

    Chasity Clark received league honors and picked up 10 points for the women in the 200-meter dash with a first-place finish of 24.60. Clark narrowly missed tying the school's record in the event. The Garland, Texas, native came within .01 seconds of SFA's current leading mark with her individual title receiving finish. Brarsheyia Simpson came in fourth (24.80) to add three points, while Tryon finished ninth (25.77).

    Simpson added an all-SLC performance, edging teammate Clark, with a third-place mark of 7.58 in the 60-meter dash. Clark took fourth (7.59), finishing .01 seconds behind Simpson.

    The most dominant performance of the meet for the men came in a 16-point showing in the heptathlon. Sophomore Cody Rhodes claimed all-conference honors with second-place of 4,980 total points across seven events. Freshman Jamal Davis also took league honors with a third-place total of 4,880 points.  Sophomores Christian Bean and John Park finished seventh (4,402) and ninth (4,275) respectively in the event.

    The women repeated their 18-point performance in the 3,000-meter run. The tandem of Lauren Smith and Randi Plentl continued their dominance in the distance events, with Smith finishing second (10:12.90) and Plentl third (10:15.25). Both seniors took all-SLC honors in the run. Laurie Byrd added 4 points with a fifth-place finish of 10:20.89, while Rebecca Blubaugh and Shelby Pesek finished outside of point placings. Smith narrowly missed conference honors earlier in day two of the meet, taking fourth, by a margin of .02, with a time of 5:02.57.

    Adam Saloom claimed league recognition for the men in the 3,000-meter run with a finish of 8:33.58. The mark was good enough for second place. Xavier Rodriguez finished in fifth in the race with a time of 8:34.37, while freshman Bryce Willard scored four points in the high jump to help keep the SFA rally alive. Willard cleared a height of 6-6.75 to finish fifth in the event.

    Senior Kelli Hermes captured all-conference honors in the triple jump with a third-place mark of 39-04.00, while Kirsten Knox just missed recognition with a fourth-place jump of 38-11.50. The duo picked up 11 points for the women in the sandbox, while Jamal Peden and Kendall Wheatley picked up four for the men. Peden finished sixth with a leap of 48-10.75, while Wheatley took eighth (46-11.50).

    SFA recorded two all-SLC finishes in the 60-meter hurdles. Nick McCloud finished second for the men with a time of 8.07, while Bria McIver took third with an 8.78 finish.

    In the women's 400-meter dash, Jefferson added another all-league performance finishing with a time of 56.61 to take third. Hatchett took fifth (57.53) in the event, while Tryon claimed eighth (58.11)
