At the Texas Relays, Cameron Meyer opened the day with a mark of 5.05 meters (16-6.75) to finish in a tie for fifth in Section B of the university/college division of the pole vault.
On the track for SFA at the Texas Relays, Josh Taylor continued running well after posting a new personal record last week. This week he ran, 51.48 seconds to advance through the preliminaries of the 400 meter hurdles. He finished second in his heat to earn the bid to the next round. For the women on Thursday, Stephanie White ran 1:04.31 to finish 54th.
Another group was in action for SFA at the Bobcat Invitational in field events.
For the men, Lucas Akins claimed eighth in the discus with his toss of 49.67 meters (162-11).
The ‘Jacks will be back in action on Friday at three different meets. A number of sprinters will take to the track at the Texas Relays along with a handful of athletes in field events. It will be a busy day for SFA’s distance runners on Friday at the Lopez Bayou Classic at Rice, and a full day is on the slate at the Bobcat Invitational with it being a team scored meet.
