Track & Field Concludes Second Day at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men and women's track and field team finished the second day of competition at the Texas Relays Thursday evening in Austin. The Ladyjacks were led by junior Jocelyn Stevens who recorded a NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 1:00.41 in the 400-meter hurdles. Sophomore Stevina Wyatt posted a time of 1:02.60 in the event.
Other Ladyjacks who had solid performances were freshman Ashley Monteau and junior Ana Rodriguez in the 5,000 meters. Monteau finished seventh with her time of 17:33.45, while Rodriguez was 10th (17:43.39).
Senior Nathan Flores led the Lumberjacks with his fourth place finish in the 5,000-meter run. Flores posted a time of 14:44.99. Sophomore Julian Acuna finished 16th in the race, crossing the finish line with his time of 15:21.35. Senior Alex Beckworth who recorded a time of 55.49 in the 400-meter hurdles. Senior Justin Connell finished 13th in the decathlon scoring 6,720 points.
SFA returns to action Friday at the Texas Relays. The meet will resume at 9:30 a.m., with the 4X100-meter relay.
