SFA Track and Field Closes Out Texas Relays

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field team had a handful of athletes participating on the final day of competition at the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas. The Lumberjacks 4x400-meter relay team highlighted the day by finishing third in the event. The team of sophomores Hampton Hawkins, Torin Crowder, freshman Glenn McQuinney and sophomore Cass Brown crossed the line with a time of 3:08.55.

Sophomore Nathan Collier just missed a top-10 finish in the men's mile run. Collier was 11th overall with a time of 4:15.91. The women's distance medley relay team of seniors Danielle Burchett and Mary Dickerson, freshman DeJernal Jordan and junior Lauren Smith posted a time of 11:44.37 to place 10th in the women's distance medley relay.

SFA track and field will be back in action Saturday, April 7th when they split the squads between two meets. SFA will be competing at the La. Tech Invitational in Ruston, La., as well as the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco, Texas.
