Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field teams combined for six individual titles, and two relay titles Saturday at the Track-It Buster Invitational in Wichita, Kan. Despite the overwhelming success on both sides, it was a heartbreaking day for the SFA as it recorded eight runner-up performances.

Senior Jon Arthur recorded the first victory of the day with his throw of 198-1 in the hammer throw. Arthur returned to the throwing circle two more times to post another victory and a top-five finish. His other win came in the shot put (58-7.25), while he finished third in the discus.

Sophomore La'Tricia Griffin just missed adding two titles to the team tally with a couple of runner-up finishes in the hammer throw and discus, but finally came through in her third event of the day. After flirting with victories in her two previous events, Griffin brought home a win in the women's shot put with a throw of 49-1.50.

Junior Shambrail Woods recorded the Ladyjacks' second title of the afternoon. She posted a jump of 18-2.50 to win the women's long jump section `B' finals.

Senior Nick McCloud won the team's first track title of the day. Clocking a time of 14.33 in the 110-meter hurdles. Sophomore Brarysheyia Simpson added to the team's title haul in the women's 200-meter dash. She clocked a time of 24.27 to take the title.

The Ladyjack team of Keisha Tryon, Cierra Jefferson, Jessica Hatchett and Simpson clocked a time of 3:44.01 to win the women's 1,600-meter relay. The 'Jacks 4x400-meter relay team of Shawn Goff, Torin Crowder, Josh Taylor and Cass Brown-Stewart made it a sweep in the event when they recorded a time of 3:11.55.

SFA will take a week to prepare before heading to Lake Charles, La., for the first day of the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships. The three-day championship meet will begin Friday, May 10th.
