NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field team will be hosting the Skechers-SFA Alumni Invitational Saturday April 6th at Fletcher Garner Track in Nacogdoches, Texas. The meet showcases the defending 2013 Southland Conference Indoor Track and Field Champion SFA men's and women's teams, along with teams from Northwestern State, Rice, Texas-Tyler and Wichita State.

SFA alumni will also be returning to campus to compete in the meet. The SFA track and field team will also honor the 2003 SLC Outdoor Champion Ladyjack squad, which was the first track and field title for SFA under head coach Phil Olson. The Ladyjacks have since rattled on nine-straight conference titles, including four consecutive outdoor titles.

The meet is set to begin at 9 a.m. with the women's hammer throw. Track events are set to get under way at 6 p.m. For the complete meet schedule click here.

Senior Jon Arthur leads the Lumberjacks into the meet coming off two of the better weeks of his career. The league's most dominant thrower during the indoor season, Arthur has not lost any steam during the outdoor campaign winning two SLC Field Athlete of the Week honors in the past three weeks. During that stretch, Arthur has recorded four individual titles and set two school records. Along with Arthur, who leads the conference in the shot put, junior Cass Brown-Stewart and sophomore Cody Rhodes lead the league in the 400-meter dash and decathlon, respectively.

The Ladyjacks have seven athletes who sit atop the leaderboard in their respective events. Junior Laurie Byrd has the top time in the women's steeplechase, sophomore Melai Carter has the best mark in the high jump, junior Kirsten Knox in the long jump, senior Kelli Hermes in triple, sophomore La'Tricia Griffin in the shot put, sophomore Madison Johnston in the javelin and freshman Brianna Dawson in the heptathlon.
