Hahn Receives F.L. McDonald Postgraduate Scholarship

FRISCO, Texas - Senior high jumper Carrie Hahn has been named a recipient of the Southland Conference's annual F.L. McDonald Postgraduate Scholarship announced league officials Wednesday afternoon. Hahn's accomplishments will be honored during the Southland Honors Ceremony Tuesday May 22, in Galveston, Texas.
The McDonald Scholarship is the league's ultimate academic honor for its top graduates. The award is presented annually to graduating male and female letterwinners with the highest cumulative grade point averages during their enrollment at Southland Conference universities. The $2,500 scholarship must be applied to graduate study at an institution of the recipient's choice.
A member of SFA's seven-time SLC champion track and field team, Hahn has maintained a 4.0 grade-point average, while being one of the league's top high jumpers. A native of Leander, Texas, Hahn has been a Dean's List and President's List selection every semester at SFA, and has received the Murray Shaw Academic Award each of the past two seasons at SFA's annual Champions' Dinner.
A three-time All-Southland Conference selection, Hahn has served as the president for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and is involved with Fellowship of Christian Track Athletes. She has been heavily involved in the Adopt-A-Highway program, as well as supporting programs that purchase Christmas gifts for less fortunate children in the community.
Led by Hahn who is currently the league leader in the high jump standings, the Ladyjacks head to San Marcos, Texas to go in search of their fourth-straight outdoor title, and the eighth-straight crown overall. Competition begins Friday morning with the opening event of the heptathlon and decathlon.
