Hahn Named SLC Female Student-Athlete of the Year

FRISCO, Texas - Senior high jumper Carrie Hahn has been named 2012 Southland Conference Female Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Year announced league officials Tuesday afternoon. Hahn headlined a group of eight SFA athletes who where named to the 2012 Academic All-SLC teams.

In addition to Hahn, who is receiving her second academic all-conference honor, sophomores Clint Harris and Heather McPherson, juniors Adam Saloom and Kelli Hermes, seniors Danielle Burchett, Randi Plentl and Lauren Watts also received academic all-conference honors.

The six Ladyjacks named to the squad have been a key part of SFA's magical run to a conference record eight-straight conference track and field titles (four indoor and outdoor). Along with Hahn, Burchett, Watts and Saloom have been named to the academic all-conference teams at least twice in their career, with Burchett and Saloom making their third consecutive appearance on the team.

Athletes must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average, and be a starter or significant reserve just to be nominated for the honor.
