SFA Places 82 on SLC Spring Commissioner's List

SFA places 82 student-athletes on the SLC Spring Commissioner's List.

Stephen F. Austin had 82 student-athletes named to the 2013 Southland Conference Commissioner's List announced league officials Tuesday morning. Among the 82 selections, eight recorded a perfect 4.0 grade-point average during the 2013 spring semester.

In addition to their success in the classroom, 32 athletes honored Tuesday played key roles in helping their respective teams win conference titles during this past season. The SFA men's and women's track and field team's swept the 2013 conference indoor and outdoor titles. Twenty-eight members of the track and field teams were named to the honor roll, while the Lumberjack basketball team added four.

In addition to the team titles, 2013 first-team All-America shortstop, and first-round draft choice of the Kansas City Royals, Hunter Dozier continues to be recognized for his work on the field and in the classroom. The 2013 Academic All-Southland selection was one of 12 baseball players named to the Commissioner's List.

The rest of the team breakdown for the 2013 SLC Spring Commissioner's List consists of eight members of the Ladyjack basketball and golf teams, while softball added 13 players. Ladyjack track and field led the way with 18, while the SFA men placed 10 athletes on the list. The Lumberjack golf team had five members named to the list, while women's tennis added four.
