NEW ORLEANS, La. - Sophomore thrower Frednisha Marshall has been named to the 2008 USTFCCCA All-Academic team announced association officials Wednesday morning. Marshall was one of a record 468 NCAA Division I athletes to be honored for their athletic, and academic accomplishments.

Athletes must maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average, and be either an NCAA provisional qualifier during the indoor season, or a regional qualifier during the outdoor season.

Marshall was a four-time All-Southland Conference honoree in 2008, who won the 2008 SLC individual weight throw title. A three-time SLC Athlete of the Week, Marshall set a new school and conference record in the weight throw, while recording and NCAA provisional mark in the event. A 2008 SFA co-MVP, Marshall enters her junior year as one of the top throwers in the SLC.
