    HUNTSVILLE, Texas - HUNTSVILLE, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's cross country teams continued the 2002 season Friday night at the Sam Houston State XC Invitational. The Lumberjacks scored 82 points to finish third behind SHSU and Houston. The Ladyjacks didn't field a full team but ran strong.

    The Lumberjacks were paced by Amlesom Teklai who crossed the line eighth with a time of 24:24. Teammate Marcus Farris was only 28 seconds off Teklai's pace, finishing with a time of 24:52. His time was good enough for 16th overall.

    Hollie Counts who finished the race 26th overall with a time of 20:57 led the Ladyjacks. Jessica Partin (21:04) was the second Ladyjack to cross the finish line. Partin was the first of three consecutive Ladyjacks who crossed the line within four seconds of one another (Emily Hufstedler - 21:06 and Kathryn Scarborough - 21:08).

    The SFA cross country teams return to action Oct. 5, at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla.
