    MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Stephen F. Austin cross country teams took advantage of a flat course at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic Saturday to record a pair of top 10 finishes. The Ladyjacks scored 134 points to finish fifth, while the Lumberjacks turned in a seventh-place finish with 240 points. Both the men's and women's races each featured more than 40 teams and better than 320 runners apiece.

    Senior Katrina Nicholas led a very strong showing by the Ladyjacks. She finished 10th overall and ninth among scoring runners to lead an effort that saw SFA pack all five of its scoring runners into the top 50, with only 1:10 separating No. 1 from No. 5. Nicholas finished the 5,000-meter course with a time of 18:15.

    Redshirt freshman Amy Shackelford was the next Ladyjack across the line, finishing 14th with a time of 18:33. Sophomore Chelsea Bradford was 25th, posting a time of 18:59, senior Kirsten Wieseman (19:19) was 39th, and freshman Meredith Blocker (19:25) took 47th.

    Freshman Marie Flores took 64th with a time of 19:38, freshman Megan Jenkins clocked in at 19:42 to finish 70th, sophomore Heather Adams finished 95th with a time of 20:01, and sophomore Breeka Johnson took 106th with a time of 20:10.

    Junior Cole Hollingsworth led the men's team with a 24th-place finish. He clocked in at 25:29 on the 8,000-meter course. Classmates Aaron Hohn and Gerardo Moreno were the next two Lumberjacks to finish, coming in 46th and 53rd, respectively, with times of 25:56 and 26:01. Freshman Dennis Yeats was 62nd with a time of 26:11, and redshirt freshman Elliot Starcevich took 106th with a time of 26:48.

    Junior Keith Mahipala ran unattached for the Lumberjacks and finished eighth overall with a time of 24:30, one minute off the winning pace. Freshmen Sam Hulse, Miles O'Neill and Barak Mossbarger also ran unattached. Hulse posted a time of 27:05, O'Neill finished in 27:27, and Mossbarger clocked in at 29:33.

    SFA's next scheduled race is the Southland Conference Championships, set for October 27, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
