Cross Country Teams Compete At Texas Invitational

AUSTIN, Texas -- The Stephen F. Austin State University cross country team competed in the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas Saturday, September 16. The meet was hosted by the University of Texas at the Walter E. Long Park. This was the first meet the team has competed in this season.

Lumberjack freshman, Nathan Flores finished the 8K race first for the team with a time of 26:04.0 and a ninth place finish. Nathan, a graduate of Kingwood High School, was competing against 53 other participants.

Ladyjack freshman, Ana Rodriguez had an outstanding race with a sixth place finish and a time of 18:58.8 in the 5K. Rodriguez came to Stephen F. Austin from Pinkston High School. There were 43 female participants in the meet.

The Stephen F. Austin cross country team will be back in action Monday, September 25, at the Nacogdoches Piney Woods Country Club for the Joe Richardson Invitational. The women will start at 6:00 PM, and will be followed by the men at 6:40 PM.
