Hill Named to Southland's All-Decade Baseball Team

Lumberjack slugger named one of the league's top player in the 2000s

2007: Named Southland Conference Hitter of the Year and Player of the Year ... named to All-America teams by both Louisville Slugger and the American Baseball Coaches Association ... First Team All-Southland Conference ... led league in home runs (24), slugging percentage (.818), runs scored (71) and total bases (184)... selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 13th round of the MLB Draft.

2006: A third-team All-SLC pick... wrote himself into the record books in multiple categories... his 72 hits, 207 at-bats, .348 batting average, 16 doubles, 43 runs and 134 total bases are all season records at SFA... his 14 home runs rank second for a season and are fourth for a career... his 44 RBI also rank second and are 10th for a career... his 10 stolen bases are the eighth best in a season and his 28 walks rank third in a season... his .647 slugging percentage is also third season-best... started 33 games behind the plate for the `Jacks, 15 at first base and six as the designated hitter... saw time in the heart of the `Jacks lineup at second, third and fourth... finished the season on an 18-game hit streak and had a hit in 24 of his last 25 games... had a career-high three hits six times, including a 3-6 showing with two runs scored and a career-high five RBI at Louisiana-Monroe (3/11)... went 3-5 with three RBI and two runs scored at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (3/29)... also went 3-6 with a career high three runs scored at McNeese State (4/7)... had three hits in five at-bats with two RBI and two runs scored against Southeastern La. (5/12)... scored at least one run in eight of last ten games, including two runs in three of last four.

Junior College: Played for one season at San Jacinto Junior College before playing his sophomore season at Eastfield Junior College... was named the Metro Athletic Conference Player of the Year and was a first-team All-American... hit 31 home runs as a sophomore.

High School: A three-year letterwinner at Langham Creek ... hit .402 with 21 home runs and 83 RBI... named to the all-city and all-state teams as a senior... also was named the District 16-5A Co-MVP his senior year... earned all-district honors as a sophomore and junior... holds the Langham Creek single-season home run record.
