FORT WORTH, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks exploded for a six-run fifth inning, and got a great night on the mound from four arms in pulling off a 6-3 win over TCU on Wednesday night at Lupton Stadium.

Cameron Gann allowed three runs - two earned - in 5.0 innings on the bump before relievers Matt Mundkowsky, Cass Ingvardsen and Brett Higginbotham came in to get the final 12 outs for SFA (16-16), who won its fourth straight game of the year.

It was the second-straight win in the all-time series for SFA over TCU (14-19), including a 4-3 win in Fort Worth in 2011.

The `Jacks pounded out 11 hits and were able to capitalize on four Horned Frog errors, getting two-hit games from Rene' Moreda, Hunter Dozier and Jordan Camel in the win.

Gann struck out a pair and allowed just three hits to the TCU offense in getting the win, moving his record to 2-4 on the year. Mundkowsky struck out the side in his inning of work before handing the ball off to Ingvardsen, who tossed a pair of scoreless frames. Higginbotham then worked around a pair of hits in the ninth to strike out Boomer White with a pair of runners on for his third save of the season.

Gann and Crichton each cruised through the first three innings before the bats started coming alive in the fourth, first for the Frogs who were able to take advantage of SFA's first fielding miscue in five games with an RBI single from Derek Odell that scored Jantzen Witte.

But the `Jacks responded one inning later with a big frame, sending all nine hitters to the plate and taking advantage of three TCU errors to score six times and take a 6-1 lead. Jordan Camel started the rally, reaching on a bunt single and moving to second on a TCU miscue. Two batters later Camel and Zach Benson scored on an RBI single from Michael Ruiz that included a two-base error on the Horned Frog's right fielder, and Moreda followed that by smacking a first-pitch RBI double to score Ruiz.

Dozier then made it 3-1 on his second hit of the day, scoring Moreda on a single to center field for his 100th RBI of his collegiate career. Another TCU error moved Dozier up a base, and Max Lamantia and Mackenzie Handel followed with RBI singles of their own.

TCU got two runs back in the bottom half of the inning on a two-run home run to right field by Paul Hendrix, but that was all that either team was able to manage the rest of the way.

Mundkowsky allowed just a soft infield hit in striking out the side in the sixth, and Ingvardsen was able to work around a walk in the seventh and eighth to set things up for Higginbotham.

The SFA stopper allowed a leadoff hit, but erased that with a double-play ball off the bat of Kevin Daniels. Things got dicey, however, when an error and a bunt single from Cody Jones brought White to the plate as the tying run; but, Higginbotham responded by striking out the TCU left fielder swinging to secure the win.

SFA will look to continue its hot streak on Friday when it opens up a three-game weekend series at Cowboy Diamond in Lake Charles vs McNeese State.
