Seventh Inning Dooms SFA Against UCA
The Central Arkansas Bears struck for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning and eliminated Stephen F. Austin with a 7-3 win on Thursday in the Southland Conference Tournament at Constellation Field.

SCOUTING CENTRAL ARKANSAS: UCA enters the weekend series 14-8 overall and 4-2 in Southland Conference play on the season. The Bears, who did not play a midweek game, are coming of a series sweep of Sam Houston State in Conway, Ark. UCA defeated the Bearkats 9-7, 4-2 and 6-4, to hand SHSU its first series loss and sweep of the season. Senior Doug Votolato currently leads the way for the Bears with a .356 batting average and 31 hits in 21 games on the season. Fellow senior Justin Treece is the reigning Southland Conference Hitter of the Week after aiding UCA to their sweep of the Bearkats with his offensive presence. In their 23 meetings, the `Jacks have won six of their seven series meetings and only lost consecutive games to UCA once when they were swept back in 2009. SFA dropped its final game of the 2013 season to the Bears in an elimination game of the Southland Cofnerence Tournament at Constellation Field in Sugar Land, Texas.
