The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack baseball team will close their four-game road swing, at Texas A&M - Corpus Christi this weekend. SFA, looking to continue the momentum from its 3-1 win at Arkansas-Little Rock on Tuesday, returns to Southland Conference action with three games against the Islanders at Chapman Field.
SFA enters the weekend 13-14 overall and 4-5 in Southland Conference play. The `Jacks are looking for their second SLC series win and second consecutive, after taking the series 2-1 with UCA at home last weekend.
SFA will have its third run through its weekend rotation with junior Cameron Gann on Friday, junior Dillon Mangham on Saturday and senior Kevin Bishop on Sunday. The three `Jack starters will see junior Matt Danton, junior Trevor Belicek and freshman Devin Skapura across the three-game series.
Players of Note
Heading into the weekend, senior Mackenzie Handel leads the team in several offensive categories. Handel leads SFA in batting average (.330), slugging percentage (.608), hits (32), RBI (26), walks (18), total bases (59) and homeruns (7), which also leads the Southland Conference. The other marks - slugging percentage (2), total bases (2), RBI (3) and walks (3), for the native of Chandler, Ariz., also rank in the top three across the league.

SFA Closes Regular Season With Win
The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks erupted for five runs in the bottom of the sixth and got six shutout innings from Justin Choate in a 6-1 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the regular-season finale for both teams on Saturday at Jaycees Field.
SCOUTING TEXAS A&M - CORPUS CHRISTI: TAMUCC enters the week 16-15 overall and 6-3 in Southland Conference play on the season. The Islanders are currently riding a six-game winning streak, most recently downing Texas-Pan American 15-7 on Wednesday. TAMUCC swept its last SLC series on the road at New Orleans. Junior Frankie Salas leads the Islanders at the plate bolstering a .342 batting average in 17 games played on the season. Salas also leads the team in slugging percentage (.474) and on-base percentage (.432).
VS. THE OPPONENT: SFA is 15-13 all-time against the Islanders, since the two teams first met in 2006. The `Jacks dropped their series meeting with TAMUCC 2-1 last season in Nacogdoches. In its last time in Corpus Christi, SFA took the series 2-1.

Behind strong pitching and early runs, the `Jacks downed Arkansas-Little Rock 3-1 on Tuesday night at Gary Hogan Field.
SFA will return to Nacogdoches for a five-game homestand. The `Jacks will host New Mexico for a doubleheader (Apr. 7-8) and Oral Roberts (Apr. 11-13) for a three-game series at Jaycees Field.
