Sanchez finished 9-for-15 (.600) across the three-games series at TAMUCC to pick up Southland Conference Hitter of the Week honors, the first of his career. Sanchez, a native of Houston, Texas, recorded multi-hit games in each contest to finish with a .600/.733/.647 split. He went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the series opener and followed with a 3-for-5 performance with two RBI and a run scored in the second game. In the series conclusion, Sanchez went 4-for-6 with two doubles and scored the game-winning run with a two-out RBI single to left field in the top of the ninth.

Rene' Moreda went 4-for-4 and the Lumberjack bats exploded for a season-high 16 hits in a 9-5 win over New Mexico on Wednesday at Isotopes Park, closing out a sweep of a two-game series against the Lobos.

The Lobos, tied for second in the Mountain West Conference with an 8-4 record in league play, are led by senior outfielder Chris Harris at the plate. Harris is among the nation leaders in hits (54) and RBI (38), boasting a .362 batting average, which leads UNM.

VS. THE OPPONENT: SFA is 2-0 all-time against the Lobos, having taken both meetings in 2012. The `Jacks, hosting UNM for the first time in the series history, beat the Lobos 8-7 (3/27/12) and 9-5 (3/28/12) across the first two game series.
