Opening Pitch
• The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack baseball team will close their five-game road swing on Tuesday night at Dallas Baptist. SFA, looking to bounce back from a series loss at Abilene Christian over the weekend, will try and avenge a 20-10 loss to the Patriots in the conclusion of the home-and-home series between the two teams. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. first pitch at Horner Ballpark.

• The `Jacks enter the week at 16-23 overall and 7-11 in Southland Conference play. Last week, SFA dropped three-of-four, falling 7-2 at Arkansas and picking up just one win over ACU across a three-game SLC series, the first-ever meetings between the two teams. DBU enters the midweek tilt at 26-13 and 6-3 in Missouri Valley Conference action.

• SFA will send junior Halden Maynard to the mound against sophomore Drew Smith. Maynard has been a steady staple for the `Jacks in the midweek of late, garnering the start each of the last three weeks. Maynard enters Tuesday's game 0-2 on the season through eight appearances and four starts, while Smith carries a 2-2 record through six games (all started) on the season.

Players of Note
• Heading into the midweek, senior Mackenzie Handel has continued to enjoy a steady season at the plate, leading both the team and Southland Conference in several offensive categories. Handel currently leads the league in RBI (36), is tied for the SLC mark in homeruns (8) and ranks second in walks (30). The native of Chandler, Ariz., also leads the `Jacks in batting average (.338), runs (25), hits (48), on-base percentage (.444), slugging percentage (.570) and total bases (81), with the latter two ranking third in the conference.

• Senior Zach Marberry currently leads the league with 15 doubles, boasting a .285/.460./.371 split.

SCOUTING DALLAS BAPTIST: DBU enters the midweek 26-13 overall and 6-3 in MVC play, having dropped four of its last five games. The Patriots won their series conclusion with Evansville on Saturday to snap a four-game losing streak and will now host SFA to close a four-game homestand. DBU's Mike Wesolowski currently leads the team with a .309 batting average, the only hitter over .300 for the season. Wesolowski is currently riding a 13-game hit streak. On the mound the Patriot staff owns a 3.53 ERA through 352.1 innings.

Lumberjacks Fall In Midweek Tilt With DBU
The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack baseball team led 6-5 headed into the sixth inning but could not hold on, falling 20-10 to Dallas Baptist on Tuesday night at Dallas Baptist.

VS. THE OPPONENT: Tuesday's game marks the 14th meeting between the two teams with DBU leading the all-time series 10-3. SFA dropped its first meeting with the Patriots 20-10 back on Mar.25 at Jaycees Field. The loss marked the second time this season (six-game span) that the opponent scored 20 runs against the `Jacks. Then No. 25 Texas Tech defeated SFA 20-4 on Mar. 18 in Lubbock, Texas.

The Last Time Out
• The `Jacks were limited to four hits in a 3-0 shutout loss, as ACU claimed the series victory on Saturday at Crutcher Scott Field. Senior Kevin Bishop took the loss for SFA in the pitcher's duel, allowing two runs on four hits across six and two-third innings pitched. Bishop walked just one batter and recorded four strikeouts in 25 batters faced. Both runs allowed by Bishop came in the seventh inning.

• The `Jacks will next return to Jaycees Field to begin a four-game homestand. SFA will host Lamar in a crucial three-game conference series with postseason implications, beginning April 25. After LU, the `Jacks will host TCU on April 29.
