Hunter Dozier was named an ABCA South Central All-Region First-Teamer on Saturday.

JONESBORO, Ark . – Stephen F. Austin junior shortstop Hunter Dozier continued to add accolades to his collegiate career by being named to the 2013 American Baseball Coaches Association South Central All-Region First Team on Saturday.
Dozier was named the ABCA South Central All-Region First Team shortstop with 220 points, second only to Rice relief pitcher Austin Kubitza. Dozier was one of six Southland Conference student-athletes named to the All- Region teams, joining Central Arkansas’ T.J. Renda (SP- First Team) and Forrestt Allday (OF- First Team), Lamar’s VJ Bunner (2B- First Team and Darian Johnson (OF- Second Team) and Sam Houston State’s Anthony Azar (C- Second Team).
Earlier on Saturday Dozier was named a Brooks Wallace Award (nation’s top shortstop) finalist along with LSU’s Alex Bregman and North Carolina State’s Trea Turner.
Dozier led the Southland Conference, and finished ranked among the nation's top 10 batting .396 with 17 home run, while finishing second in the league with 52 RBIs.
The ABCA All-America team will be announced after the conclusion of the College World Series. The ABCA Rawlings’ Gold Glove winners will also be announced at that time as well.
