Named the 2001-02 Southland Conference Freshman of the Year in a vote of league head coaches following the season.... good defender with developing offensive skills....

2001-02 (Freshman): Worked his way into starting line-up early in the season, making 22 starts while appearing in all 28 games for the 'Jacks.... led the team with 25 blocked shots, finishing in the top 10 in the SLC in that category.... recorded a career high 17-points against Lamar in the first round of the 2002 Southland Conference postseason tournament, also added 12-rebounds for second career double-double... chalked up first career double-double on 2/14 againt Lamar with a 10-point, 12-rebound effort.... finished the year shooting over 50% from the field (74-146, .507).... averaged 7.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game....

2000-2001 (Redshirt): Spent redshirt season working out with the Lumberjacks and adding upper body strength....

High School: Was a three sport letterwinner at Brazosport High School, lettering in basketball, football and track... lettered and started all four years in basketball for coach Ronnie Edwards... helped team to a 29-4 record as a senior and a 23-9 record as a junior... team advanced to area round of playoffs both seasons, regionals his junior year.... averaged 18.4 points and 12.7 rebounds per game in his high school career... also added 4 blocks and 2.5 steals per night over his four year career... was also an Academic All-District honoree... as a football player, earned All-District honors as a wide receiver... team posted a school record 12-1 season as a senior, advancing to the regional semi-finals... Who?s Who Among American High School Students....
