Nick Shaw is in his second year as a full-time assistant after serving as a graduate assistant during the 2010-11 season. This is Shaw's first college coaching position.
A former Lumberjack player, Shaw was a key part of SFA's Southland Conference championship runs in 2007-08 and 2008-09. He started all 64 games during his two seasons with the 'Jacks, helping the team to a 50-14 overall record and two straight trips to the postseason. SFA reached the NIT in 2008 and earned a berth in the NCAA Championships in 2009.
Shaw finished with 397 career points and 350 career rebounds for an average of 5.5 boards per game. Shaw's career-high in scoring was 17 points against ULM in 2007, and he pulled down a career-best 19 rebounds against Southeastern Louisiana in 2009.
A 2009 graduate of SFA, Shaw holds a degree in business.
