Lions Utilize Strong Defensive Effort to Beat SFA

HAMMOND, La. - The Southeastern Louisiana Lions jumped out to a 31-13 halftime lead over the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Saturday and cruised to a 54-33 victory. The Lumberjacks fall to 10-9 overall and 4-4 in Southland Conference play.
The Lumberjacks were held to a 10-of-35 (.286) performance from the floor, while the Lions hit 21-of-42 (.500) shots. The Lumberjacks also turned the ball over 22 times which is the team's second-highest mark on the season. The Lions also won the rebounding battle, 26-23.
Senior Taylor Moore led the Lumberjacks with 13 points and eight rebounds, while classmate Tim Simon chipped in seven points on 2-of-3 (.667) shooting. Johnathan Patton leads Southeastern with 16 points.
The Lumberjacks return to action Wednesday when they return home to face Texas State. The game against the Bobcats is slated to begin at 7 p.m., from the William R. Johnson Coliseum
