    'Jacks Roll In 82-72 Win Over Louisiana-Monroe

    MONROE, La. (AP) - Percy Green scored 20 points and Marcus Clark added 19 as Stephen F. Austin beat Louisiana-Monroe 82-72 Saturday in the opening Southland Conference game for both teams.

    Green went 7-of-12 from the floor and Clark hit 11-of-14 free throws. SFA (5-3, 1-0) led 38-34 at the half after shooting 46 percent, or 14-of-30, from the floor.

    UL-Monroe (2-6, 0-1) shot 42 percent, or 11-of-26, in the first half. Kirby Lemons hit 6-of-12 from the floor, 10-of-17 free throws and had game highs with 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Indians.

    Antonio Burks had 13 points for Austin. B.J. Banks had seven rebounds and Clark had seven assists.

    Monroe's Reggie Griffin scored 11 points and had eight rebounds.

    The 'Jacks never trailed in the second half and won in Monroe for only the third time in their last 11 trips. SFA has started conference play 1-0 each year under Danny Kaspar.
