KATY, Texas -
Stephen F. Austin's Jereal Scott and Jordan Glynn have each been named to the All-Southland Conference teams, announced Tuesday by league officials. Scott, a junior center, was a First-Team All-Southland selection, while Glynn, a senior forward, earned second-team honors.
The pair of honors continues a streak of 11 consecutive seasons for SFA to place at least one player on the all-conference squads. Scott marks the Lumberjacks' first selection to the first team since 2009, when Matt Kingsley was named the Southland Player of the Year.
Scott averaged 13.7 points during the regular season to lead SFA and rank 11th in the Southland. The Houston native also pulled down 5.9 rebounds per game, good enough for 13th in the league. His .611 shooting percentage ranks second in the Southland. Scott led the Lumberjacks in scoring 13 times this season, including a career-best 30 points in an overtime win against Texas State. He was an honorable-mention all-conference selection last season.
Glynn earned second-team honors in his second season as a Lumberjack. He was SFA's second-leading scorer with 11.6 points per night. That figure ranks 21st in the Southland, and his 8.1 rebounds per game are fifth in the league. Glynn shoots 53.6 percent from the field, ninth in the conference. He led SFA and finished fifth in the Southland with seven double-double performances this season. Glynn scored a career-high 26 points in SFA's win at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
The Lumberjacks will open play in the State Farm Southland Conference Basketball Tournament Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. SFA goes into the tournament as the No. 6 seed. The Lumberjacks will take on No. 3 Sam Houston State.
