NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin basketball coach Brad Underwood announced Wednesday the addition of junior college transfer Connor Brooks to the Lumberjack roster for the upcoming 2013-14 season.

Brooks is a 6-4 shooting guard from Northern Oklahoma Junior College, helping the Jets to a 45-20 in his two-year junior college career. He got into 29 games as a freshman, averaging 7.5 points per game and nearly doubled that as a sophomore, averaging 13.1 points and 6.5 boards per contest in earning first team all-region honors.

"We are awfully excited to have Connor and his versatility as part of our program," Underwood said. "He's an athlete who is a coaches' kid and plays with an extremely high IQ. He can guard multiple positions and is a good three-point shooter with the ability to play either the two or the three spot."

Originally from Manhattan, Kan., Brooks hit better than 42 percent of his shots from the field last year and better than 36 percent of his three-point tries in each of his two seasons in Enid. He scored in double figures 22 times as a sophomore, including a season-high 30-point outburst in an eight-point win over Seminole State College in December, and a 27-point night in a win over Eastern Oklahoma State in February.

Brooks played shooting guard for his father, Tim Brooks, at Manhattan High School, setting the school's single-season record for steals (63) and steals per game (3.0), while also finishing second in career three-point makes and attempts.
