SFA Continues Road Stretch In Austin

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack basketball team, hot off their 64-57 win at Texas State over former head coach Danny Kaspar, will continue their four-game road stretch in Austin with a 7:00 showdown with Texas on Friday, Nov. 15, at 7:00 p.m. inside the Frank C. Erwin Center.
SFA (2-0) will be looking to run its record to 3-0 for the first time since the 2003-04 season and second since the turn of the century. The Lumberjacks are 0-5 all-time against the Longhorns (2-0) since the two schools first met back in 1937. The ‘Jacks last squared off with UT in the 2002-03 season, falling 81-55 in a televised game on the Longhorn Sports Network (Nov. 23).
UT has had a pair of come from behind victories to open the 2013-14 season at home. The Longhorns faced a nine-point deficit (62-53) with 9:44 remaining in the second half during the season opener against Mercer (Nov. 8) and trailed by as much as 17 points (45-28) with 1:28 left in the opening half on Tuesday night against South Alabama. UT edged Mercer 76-73, before handling the Jaguars 84-77.
