    NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Wagons West: The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack basketball team will head west Saturday to take on Texas Tech in the 'Jacks' first road contest of the season. It marks the first of two meetings with Big 12 teams in 2007-08. SFA enters the game at 2-0, following Tuesday's victory over Jackson State. The Red Raiders bring a 1-1 mark to the contest after dropping a close decision at Southland Conference foe Sam Houston State on Wednesday.

    Last Game: The Lumberjacks got a strong all-around performance in their 70-55 win over Jackson State Tuesday. Matt Kingsley put together a career game, scoring 22 points and pulling down 13 rebounds to lead four Lumberjacks in double-figure scoring. Freshman Eddie Williams broke out with 16 points, junior Nick Shaw scored 12, and senior Gerald Fonzie added 11. After hitting just 31 percent from the field in the season opener, SFA knocked down 48 percent against the Tigers, while holding Jackson State to just 31 percent. SFA beat the Tigers, 43-34, on the boards.

    vs. Texas Tech: Saturday's game will mark the 10th all-time meeting between SFA and the Red Raiders. SFA holds a 6-3 advantage overall, but Texas Tech has won two straight in the series. The last meeting ended in a 54-51 victory in Lubbock for the Red Raiders in 2000-01 -- SFA head coach Danny Kaspar's first season in Nacogdoches. The Lumberjacks' last win in the series was a 75-74 road victory in the 1998-99 season.

    The Red Raiders: Texas Tech opened the season with a solid 68-56 home win over UC-Riverside. In their second game, the Red Raiders again held the opposition to 56 points, but could only must 54 themselves in dropping Wednesday's game at Sam Houston State. Senior guard Martin Zeno has been Texas Tech's leading scorer in both games this year.

    The Coaches: SFA is under the direction of head coach Danny Kaspar. Kaspar is in his eighth season at the helm for the Lumberjacks. He holds a record of 110-90 (.550) at SFA and has a 329-142 (.699) overall record in 16-plus seasons as a collegiate head coach. Tuesday's game with Jackson State was Kaspar's 200th as SFA head coach. Texas Tech is coached by Bob Knight. With an overall record of 891-364 (.710) over 41 seasons, Knight is college basketball's winningest coach. He holds a record of 127-68 (.651) in six years with the Red Raiders.

    Up Next: The Lumberjacks will return home for a game against Louisiana-Monroe on Wednesday, Nov. 17. The contest is set for a 7 p.m. start. SFA will then head to DeKalb, Ill. for a Saturday showdown at Northern Illinois. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m.
