    NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin closed the month of November with a 5-2 record and 3-1 mark in the First Bank and Trust Roundball Showcase. The Lumberjacks, coming off a 60-55 win over UNC-Wilmington, will now play their second game in the state of North Carolina, taking on High Point (3-2) Sunday, Dec. 1, at 1:00 p.m. inside the Willis Athletic and Convocation Center. The Sunday showdown will be the second-ever meeting between the two schools, having first met in the 2011-12 season as part of the ESPN BracketBusters. SFA won 69-62 over the Panthers in Nacogdoches (Feb. 2).

    SFA Holds Off High Point In Bracket Busters
    Taylor Smith finished with 16 points and a career-high five blocks, including two key rejections in the final minutes of the game as Stephen F. Austin withstood a second half rally from High Point to take a 69-62 win on Saturday at William R. Johnson Coliseum in a game that was part of the Sears Bracket Busters event.

    High Point comes into Sunday's matchup on a two-game winning streak after beating Wofford, 66-56, last Sunday. HPU got out to an 11-2 lead and never lost it, as redshirt-sophomore John Brown led all scorers with 22 points on 10-for-15 shooting in 24 minutes of action. Before WC, the Panthers knocked off William & Mary 80-69 in the Millis Center.

    Junior forward Jacob Parker recorded 19 points and 12 rebounds in a double-double performance, as the Stephen F. Austin men's basketball team held on for a 60-55 victory over UNC-Wilmington Friday night inside Trask Coliseum as part of the First Bank and Trust Roundball Showcase.

    Parker's double-double is the fourth of the season for the native of Bixby, Okla., and the Lumberjacks. Parker was 6-of-10 from the field, with a made three-pointer and 6-of-7 from the charity stripe in a team-high 37 minutes played.  Parker was one of three SFA players to shoot in double-figures on the night, joined by guards Desmond Haymon (12) and Thomas Walkup (10). 

    The `Jacks will return to Nacogdoches, hosting James Madison and Towson inside William R. Johnson Coliseum in the fourth annual Etech Lumberjack Classic. Sam Houston State will also partake in the tournament, facing the other two visiting schools.
