Dan Eason is in his 13th season in charge of the Lumberjacks' strength and conditioning program. During Eason's time in Nacogdoches, he has helped strengthen the 'Jacks with his workout programs. That fact was no more evident that in the 2009-10 academic year when the Lumberjacks won the 2009 Southland Conference title, in addition to five othere sports who brought home titles to lock up the 2010 Commissioner's Cup - the first in program history. SFA became only the second school to sweep the men's, women's and all-sports trophies since its inception. The university followed that up by winning the men's all-sports trophy in 2010-11. The following season SFA recorded its second Commissioner's Cup in three years, and won the men's all-sports trophy last season, making SFA the league's strongest department in the past three years.
A 1995 graduate of Southwest Missouri State, Eason joined the SFA program after one season as a strength coach at the University of Central Florida. Eason also spent two years as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach and coordinator of sports nutrition at the University of Tennessee from 1998-2000.
The former Southwest Missouri State letterman also spent two seasons as the defensive line and strength coach at Chowan College from 1996-2000.
Eason's undergraduate degree is in dietetics, and he holds a master's degree in human performance and sport studies from the University of Tennessee.
Eason, and his wife Angel, have a daughter, Violet.
