    Defensive Coordinator (LB)

    Matt Williamson is in his first season as the Lumberjacks' defensive coordinator, working primarily with SFA's linebacking corps.

    Williamson has worked side-by-side with coach Conque for the past seven years, serving as Central Arkansas' defensive coordinator and linebackers coach since the 2007 season. Under Williamson, UCA led the Southland in scoring defense three-straight seasons, leading the league in total defense in 2009.

    Prior to his time in Conway, Williamson spent seven seasons on the staff at Missouri Western State, serving as the Griffons' defensive line coach during that span as well as taking on the role of defensive coordinator in 2005. Williamson spent two seasons at Arkansas-Monticello (1999-2000) as a defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator after spending three seasons at Missouri Western as a graduate assistant from 1997-99.

    A three-time All-MIAA selection at noseguard at Missouri Western, Williamson was a second team All-American in 1996, leading the Griffons with 82 tackles before earning his degree in 1997. He and his wife, Andrea, have two sons: Zach and Brock.
