Second Scrimmage Moved to Saturday in Lufkin
March 31, 2014
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin's second spring scrimmage has been moved to Saturday, April 5th, as the 'Jacks will take to the road, practicing at Lufkin High School beginning at 4 p.m.
"We're taking our team on the road for the second scrimmage," said head coach Clint Conque. "We're very appreciative of Lufkin High School allowing us to use their facilities for the day. Hopefully this will be a great chance for all the SFA fans in the Lufkin area to come out and see the team in the final scrimmage before the Spring Game."
SFA's second scrimmage was originally scheduled for Sunday, April 6th at 4 p.m. at Homer Bryce Stadium to not conflict with the 2014 Carl Kight Invitational track meet being hosted by the SFA track and field team. But the change was made to not disrupt the practice schedule for the players and coaching staff and will give the 'Jacks a chance to practice at a different facility.
The team should arrive in Lufkin around 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon and will go through stretches and positional drills before beginning the scrimmage around 4 p.m. It will mark the final full-contact scrimmage before the 2014 Spring Game, set for Saturday, April 12th at 6:30 p.m. at Homer Bryce Stadium.
