SFA Letterman's Association Donates to Scholarship Fund
April 9, 2013
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - SFA Letterman's Association treasurer Gary Jentz, president Carl Baker and former president Sparky Cartwright made a donation to the SFA Athletic Scholarship Fund on behalf of the Letterman's Association Tuesday morning.
"We are very thankful for the support that we get from the SFA Letterman's Association, and the Nacogdoches community," said SFA Director of Athletics Robert Hill. "We are in the business of winning, but first and foremost, we are here to help our athletes get a quality education. The success of all of our teams wouldn't be possible without the support of organizations like the Letterman's Association."
Under NCAA rules, student-athletes have five years to complete their four years of competition eligibility. Due to the time requirements placed on student-athletes, many do not graduate within four years. The donation by the Letterman's Association helps ensure that athletes can continue to have the education funded after their eligibility has ended.
