Former Stephen F. Austin running back Derrick Blaylock was taken in the fifth round of Sunday's NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Blaylock rushed for 1,382 yards last season, his only season as a full time starter for the Lumberjacks.
That rushing total is second in the all-time single season rushing list in SFA history.
Blaylock's selection in the fifth round marks the second time in four years that the Lumberjacks have had at least one player taken in the top five rounds of the NFL draft.
