NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Stephen F. Austin head football coach Mike Santiago announced today the addition of Kevin Goodwin to the Lumberjack football coaching staff. Goodwin will serve as the running backs coach for the Lumberjacks.

"I am very excited about being able to add a coach of Kevin's caliber to this staff. Coach Goodwin returns to Stephen F. Austin as a coach following a brilliant playing career at SFA. Kevin is one of the dynamic, rising coaches in the NCAA coaching ranks. His blood runs purple, and he is excited about the opportunity to return to SFA," said Santiago.

Goodwin will serve as the running backs coach for the Lumberjacks next fall. He fills the vacancy created when Robert McFarland took a position with Central Florida.

Robert Walker moves from coaching the running backs to take over the duties of offensive line coach and run game coordinator.

"Moving Coach Walker from the backs to run game coordinator and offensive line coach keeps continuity in the offensive unit. Coach Walker did an outstanding job with the running backs last year and will do the same sort of job with the offensive line this fall. Adding Coach Goodwin will even strengthen the staff as a whole," said Santiago.

The Lumberjacks report for fall camp the second week of August, and open the season August 31 with Central Oklahoma.
