Stephen F. Austin junior defensive end Darren Robinson has been named to the College Football Performance Awards Defensive Lineman Watch List announced CFPA officials Sunday afternoon. Robinson is one of only 38 players named to the preseason list.
"I'm very happy for Darren being named to this list," said head coach J.C. Harper. "He plays the game of football the way it is intended to be played - very physical and relentless. Add that to the power he brings to the position and he is an imposing player."
Just a year after sitting out the 2011 season due to an injury, Robinson responded by earning first-team All-Southland Conference honors. He finished ranked among the national leaders in sacks (7.5) and tackles for losses (11.5) during his sophomore campaign. He was also credited with 31 total tackles and two forced fumbles.
