July 15, 2014
FRISCO, Texas - The Southland Conference has released its 2014 football television schedule as Stephen F. Austin will make three appearances as part of the league's broadcast schedule.
The Lumberjacks will kick off the Southland's ESPN3 exclusive broadcasts when SFA hosts Central Arkansas at 6 p.m. Saturday, October 4th. In addition to being the `Jacks' SLC opener, the game against the Bears pits first year head coach Clint Conque against his former team.
SFA then make a pair of appearances on the Southland TV Network, the first of which comes on Saturday, October 25th when the `Jacks host reigning SLC champion Southeastern Louisiana at Homer Bryce Stadium at 3 p.m.
The following week, Southland TV will be the broadcast home of the 2014 Battle of the Piney Woods when SFA squares off against rival Sam Houston State at NRG Stadium in Houston. Kickoff against the Bearkats is set for 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 1st.
The final week of the regular season (November 22nd) is being reserved for a "wild card" selection, based on how the season plays out. One of those games slated as a possibility for the final broadcast is SFA's tilt against Northwestern State as the `Jacks look to reclaim Chief Caddo.
SFA's Southland TV affiliate is KCEB out of the Tyler/Longview area, which is available over-the-air on 54.1, Suddenlink channel 8 in Nacogdoches, Suddenlink channel 2 in Tyler, channel 18 on DirecTV and channel 54 on Dish Network.
In addition, SFA's season-opener at Kansas State on Saturday, August 30th, will also be broadcast live. The game against the Wildcats will be broadcast at KStateHD.TV, a subscription-based online network produced by Kansas State Athletics.
In all, The Southland Conference Television Network and ESPN3 will feature 15 exclusive broadcasts of all 11 Southland football teams in 2014. The matchups will be featured on more than 25 regional affiliates across Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas, as well as to a nationwide audience on ESPN3 and ESPN GamePlan. Five of the telecasts will be shown nationally and exclusively by ESPN3.
Southland Conference Television Network broadcasts will be available on local channels across the region, as well as new affiliates outside the league's footprint. The full list of stations will be updated prior to each game at southland.org/television.
