    MONTGOMERY, Texas - The Southland Conference released its 2005 television schedule Wednesday afternoon at the SLC Kickoff Celebration in Montgomery, Texas. The Lumberjacks will appear twice on FSN-Southwest and once on ESPNU.

    The 'Jacks first televised game will be Thursday, Oct. 20, in Huntsville. The Lumberjacks annual battle against rival Sam Houston State will begin at 7 p.m on FSN-Southwest. SFA will then host Texas State Saturday Nov. 12, on FSN-Southwest in Nacogdoches. The game against the Bobcats is slated to begin at 1 p.m. SFA closes out the 2005 regular season Thursday Nov. 17, in Natchitoches, La., against Northwestern State. The game against the Demons will kickoff at 6:30 p.m., on ESPNU.

    The SLC also released the preseason polls with SFA picked third in the coaches' poll and fifth in the sports information director's poll. The 'Jacks received 24 points and one first-place vote in the coaches' poll and 25 points in the SID poll.

    Senior offensive lineman Jerry Little led a cast of four Lumberjacks who earned Preseason All-SLC honors Wednesday. Little was the 'Jacks lone first-team representative. Senior offensive lineman Matt Hoelscher and sophomore wideout Chance Dennis were named second team offense, while junior safety Keldrick Holman earned second-team defense honors.

    SFA kicks off the 2005 season Thursday, Sept. 1, against Henderson State. The game against the Reddies is slated to begin at 7 p.m., in Homer Bryce Stadium.
