July 30, 2012
NACOGDOCHES, Texas -
Players will report to camp Thursday, but Stephen F. Austin is already making preparations for the 2014 football season. The Lumberjacks will open 2014 at Kansas State announced Director of Athletics Robert Hill Monday afternoon.
The game against the Wildcats is slated for Saturday, Aug. 30th, at Bill Snyder Family Stadium, in Manhattan, Kansas.
The game against the Wildcats will be the first NCAA FBS opponent for the Lumberjacks outside the state of Texas since traveling to Tulsa in 2006. Kansas State posted one of their best seasons in program history last season with a 10-3 overall record, and finished second in the Big 12 with a 7-2 conference mark. Despite a 13-point setback to Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl, KSU finished the season ranked 15th nationally.
The Lumberjacks will open the 2012 campaign Thursday, Aug. 30th against Southwestern Oklahoma. The game against SWOU is slated to kick off at 6 p.m. from Homer Bryce Stadium.
