Byron Boston Speaks at Nacogdoches Rotary

The Southland Conference Coordinator of Officials Bryon Boston was in town Wednesday afternoon to speak to Nacogdoches Rotary. Boston covered the rules changes for the upcoming season, including illegal hits, and showed those in attendance a video of what would be considered legal and illegal contact.
Boston is in his 37th year of officiating football, and beginning his seventh year as the SLC coordinator of Officials. He is also in his 19th season as a game official in the National Football League. Boston has officiated 18 playoff games during his career, as well as Super Bowl XXXIV between St. Louis and Tennessee.
The Lumberjacks are in the midst of their second week of preseason camp. SFA will hit the turf Saturday for their first scrimmage of the season. The scrimmage is slated to begin approximately at 7 p.m. from Homer Bryce Stadium.
